I want to be a hippie

I was in San Francisco last week, and it was absolutely amazing! Coming from New York, with all the different pulls in every direction, a city that shreds your soul to bits and then throws them out on the dirty sidewalk, I landed in the city of happiness. The place is so chill it made me want to be a hippie. It lets you be the way you prefer to be. It doesn't require you to do anything, you can just let yourself be. Which I did. I walked around taking pictures of just about anything that crossed my path, took a nap in a lovely park overlooking the city, sat by the water and took pictures (very boring ones, but fun to take) of birds, jumped up on a cable car (literally jumped on it), screamed while driving across the Golden Gate, and didn't stop smiling the whole time I was doing this.

A shoe shiner had set up a little office space right in the middle of the sidewalk, next to a telephone booth.

Chinatown
The guys were dancing, in the park, I woke up from a sunny hour long nap, opened my eyes and saw them dancing.

That 70's Pant

The Runaways came out and I'm dying to go and see it. Never have time to go to the movies though, with studying going out of my hands. but i did find, in a rummage sale in London, a pair of amazing high waisted jeans. They made me feel like I just stepped out of the 70's. They made me feel quite more feminist too. And they made me want to smoke weed. I suppose clothing is not the real influence, but that was the result.

Here is a snapshot from the movie.

The real 70's. Oh the hair.

Here is me.

Vertical Stripes

(From Garance Dore')
I saw this picture in February (if I recall right), during fashion week that is, and since I generally tend to be pretty simple in my way of dressing, or better, more classical, when I saw those tights I couldn't believe at the genius who designed them. Absolute genius. They are simple yet very unusual. I started my quest to find them. It was impossible of course. But then, one bright day in London, in Camden Town, I stumbled upon them and started jumping up and down with happiness. They are pretty amazing even on simple me.

Just to stay in mood - Sleepless Nights

SleepyHead

Not having been able to either sleep properly or stop listening to this song for the last week. Here it goes.
